Being an institute of higher learning, Assumption University has a definite policy to provide quality instruction to students, both Thai and foreign nationals. In addition to the undergraduate programs in ten Faculties, graduate programs for master and Ph.D. degrees have been offered in one Faculty, seven Graduate Schools and four Doctoral Degree Programs. Submission of thesis is required for Plan A of these graduate degree programs.
From the initial period of our graduate programs, a number of theses have been submitted in partial fulfillment of the degrees. Although copies of the theses have been deposited at the University library and concerned Graduate Schools / Faculties, they are not readily available to faculty members and graduate students. Access to these theses is even more difficult for scholars outside Assumption University.
In order to provide easy access to the information contained in these theses, the abstracts of all previously submitted theses of Assumption University, starting from the year 1996 up to 1999, have been compiled, edited, and published as a service to the community.
It is hoped that this small publication will be of some benefit to our general readers and that it will serve the dual function of giving information as well as encouragement and guideline for our new graduate students. It is our determination to continue this publication on an occasional basis, as and when enough materials are accumulated, especially when more graduate students are pursuing their higher degrees in our graduate programs.
On behalf of the University, I wish to express my sincere thank to Dr. Narong Chomchalow, the Editor of AU Journal of Technology, for his initiative, as well as the hard work involved in compiling, editing, and preparing the manuscripts of the AU Thesis Abstracts.
Dr. Prathip Martin Komolmas, FSG
