| The First Wine Committee Meeting
On 24 June 2004, members of the Wine Committee were invited
to attend a meeting at the Na Thong Restaurant, Bangkok. The
purpose of this meeting was to discuss the direction of the
6th Thai Local Wisdom Alcoholic Beverages Seminar, to be held
on 8 - 9 September 2004. The Committee also discussed the situations
and problems of alcoholic beverages in Thailand and agreed that
the upcoming FTA (Free Trade Agreement) would definitely affect
agricultural products of the country. Thus, this issue should
be included in this year's seminar. The Committee urged the
University to act as a model to encourage high standards for
Thai wine by demonstrating a proper distillation process for
quality alcoholic beverages.
