A workshop on, "Classroom Action Research in Nursing Education" was organized by
the Faculty of Nursing Science on 13-14 January 2004, in the Conference Room A-51, AU Hua Mak Campus in order to motivate all nursing instructors to conduct quality classroom research.
Opening Remarks were delivered by Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, the AU President. Seventeen AU and four Thammasart University nursing instructors participated in the workshop that lasted for two days.
In the workshop, Prof. Dr. Utumporn Jamornmann, Chief Operating Officer, Faculty of Internet Distance Education, AU moderated the discussion on, "Action Research: Nursing Challenges", while Dr. Nantha-phan Chinlumprasert, Dean,
Faculty of Nursing Science, Assumption University on, "Classroom Action Research in Nursing Education". The important steps for preparing research proposals related to teaching learning development, methodology, and research applications were introduced.
These will be beneficial for all nursing instructors who plan to enhance their capabilities in professional research skills, as well as to enrich and broaden their research skills.
The objectives of the workshop were to:
(i) encourage nursing instructors to dedicate their time and efforts for preparing research proposal,
(ii) provide nursing instructors with an overview of classroom action research, techniques, and application,
(iii) develop professional research skills of nursing instructors, and
(iv) prepare a standard proposal development project.
