Computer Programming Competition

The Faculty of Science and Technology, together with the Science and Technology Student Council, organized the "SCIENCE. ABAC 2002 Competition for High School Students", at AU's Hua Mak Campus on 21-22 November 2002. This year we had about 300 high school students participated in the competition.

This was the sixth time that such a competition had been organized for high school students to compete in computer and mathematical knowledge. In the past this competition was named the "AUSTECH Computing Challenge", and there were only computer-related competitions. After that, general knowledge of mathematics was added. This year, we organized a special event called, "Science-in Camp", which let high school students join the training courses offered by faculty members.

'Science-in Camp' provided the following training courses for the high school students:
  1. Basic knowledge about inter-networking
  2. AI (Artificial Intelligence)
  3. Hardware and its systems
  4. Hypothesis testing.

'Science-in Camp' was held at the Bang Na Campus between 18-20 October 2003.

The following competitions were organized:
  1. General Mathematical Knowledge
  2. General Computer Knowledge
  3. Team Computer Programming

The objectives of these competitions were to:
  • Give the opportunities to high school students to show their capabilities concerning computer and mathematical knowledge.
  • Encourage high school students to know and study in the science and technology field.
  • Update new knowledge for high school students

The results of competition were as follows:

> For Computer General knowledge:

First-Prize Winner: Mr. Charkrit Yau from Assumption Samrong School.

Second-Prize Winner: Mr: Sakol Limothai from Rajabhat Institute, Nakhon Pathom Demonstration School.
