AU Tech Note

As stated in the Common Activities on page one, two faculty members of the Faculty of Science and Technology received the 2002 AU Awards for Excellence. These two faculty members were:

> Dr.Jirapun Daengdej of the Department of Information Technology, who received the St. Hilaire Award for Distinction in Academic Writing (3rd Class). Dr. Jirapun has published more than 30 papers in both proceedings of international conference and international journals. He has been invited to publish his papers in many recognized international journals, as well as a member of the reviewing committees for journals in the US and various international conferences.

>Asst. Prof. Dr. Dobri Atanassove Batovski, Director of the St. Gabriel Telecommunications Laboratory, who received the St. Bernard Award for Special Merit (3rd Class). Dr. Batovski has distinguished himself in numerous areas as an administrator, instructor, researcher, and volunteer. He was the creator of the Physic Lab and the initiator of the installation of the first Wireless Local Area Network in the University. He has constantly improved his teaching process and has been teaching 12 subjects simultaneously and an advisor for a large number of bachelor, master, and doctoral degree students. He has been actively participating in the organization of four international conferences, and also the founder of the Computer Library, in which he served as its Librarian since 1998.
