The Faculty of Science and Technology invited Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Hung from New Mexico State University, USA to give lecture to both undergraduate and graduate program. It was indeed a great opportunity to have a fuzzy logic expert as a visiting professor to our faculty.
Professor Hung got his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from the University of Lille, France. He is a Research Associate at the University of California at Berkeley and Visiting Assistant Professor at various universi-ties. He has received various awards and recognitions, such as senior fellow from ASEE Summer Faculty Research Programs, Chair of Fuzzy Theory at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, Westhafer Award for Excellence in Research from New Mexico State University, Distinguished Lukas Visiting Professor of Statistics from Ohio State University of Bowling Green. And also a lot of visiting positions, such as Fulbright researcher in Spain, visiting professor at various universities. At present, his research interests are mathematical statistics, probability theory and fuzzy logic for intelligent systems. He has written 17 books on intelligent technology including fuzzy logic, neural network, mathematical statistics. He has also published more than 60 research papers in the field of intelligent technology.
The Faculty of Science and Technology was also honored to have Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Hung as a visiting professor in the Computer Science Department.
