MOU between SPSS and AU

The above agreement was signed on 1 October 2001 at A Building, 5th floor. The SPSS, as part of its strategic plan to enhance its support infrastructure, seeks to collaborate with academic institutions in the area of SPSS software and application training. The Department of Applied Statistics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Assumption University is regarded as a highly reputable and the most prestigious education institution in the country. It has played a pivotal role in the creation and dissemination of knowledge in statistics, artificial intelligence and information technology as well as in the development of highly skilled human resources in such fields. The two partners agreed to promote the following exchange activities based on their respective academic and educational needs:
  • To establish a curriculum that will enable the students and faculty members of the Applied Statistics Department to develop effective skill sets in both introductory and advanced statistical and data analysis concepts.
  • To develop training programs for the Applied Statistics Department's students and faculties, and other interested parties within Assumption University as well as external organizations and individuals in the application of statistical and data analysis skills to business intelligence problem solving.
  • To perform consulting collaboration, which can be in terms of monthly meeting for research in particular topic.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Kyo Ohira, Managing Director of SPSS (Thailand) and A. Jiraput Poomontre, Chairperson of the Department of Applied Statistics, Faculty of Science and Technology.
