Lecture Series 2001
Combining Art and Science is one of our School's mission. As a result we are trying to bring people from different disciplines, such as philosophy, architecture, interior design, product design, to give a series of lectures to our staff and students.
On 8 November 2001, Ms. Kannika Ratanapridakul, an architect and educator, gave us a lecture on her inspirational works which included her educational background from Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc), USA to her post-graduate practice with Morphosis, a well known architectural firm in California, and her teaching experience at several institutes such as KMIT Thon Buri and Chiang Mai University. Her works have been widely published and recently presented her point of view in architectural education at ACASIA, an international conference on Asian Architectural Movement in Singapore. She is currently working with O&L in Bangkok and a part-time lecturer at Chiang Mai University.
On 13 December we invited Mr. Punlarp Punnotok, Director of "Color Party" which he established a few years ago after he left "Propaganda." His graphic design firm is famous for creating corporate identity and other design related products. In his presentation, Visual Communication: The Development of Design and Content", he expressed his view on a brief history of graphic design ranging from typography to Swiss design influence, from form follows function to form follows information.
All the lectures were held at Salle D'Expo, starting at 17.00. Details of future lecture series can be seen in our website: http://www.arch.au.edu
