Collaboration between AU and Naresuan University

An academic collaboration program between Assumption University and Naresuan University has recently been launched to assist the "30-baht Healthcare Scheme" of the Thai Government. The contract has been signed by Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, AU Vice President for Academic Affairs and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montol Sa- nguansermsri, President of Naresuan University, on 7 March 2002 at Sap Phai Wan Grand Hotel, Phitsanulok province, in order to support the construction of a computerized health care database for 30-baht universal coverage of health care.

The AU Faculty of Science and Technology is charged with the task of developing a computerized system to link the information of every Thai people to health networks nationwide. This will solve the problem of people having double health insurance, and also results in quicker and more accurate health services. This medical information is needed for the development of the scheme related to the data about the patients, their health records, disease diagnosis, and drug allergy records, as well as the information on hospitals or other medical units.
