Atom Games
The Faculty of Science and Technology, together with the and S&T Student Council organized the "12th Atom Games" at Bang Na Campus on 20-25 March 2002. "Atom Games" is the game competition among the faculty of science from the universities all over Thailand. This year was the 12th year of Atom Games, which was hosted by Assumption University at Bang Na Campus. The following 17 universities participated in the activities: Assumption, Bangkok,
Burapha, Chalermphrakiet, Chulalongkorn, Hua Chieow, Kasem Bundit, Kasetsart, Khon Kaen, King Mongkut's Institute
(at North Bangkok and Lat Krabang), Maejo, Payap, Rangsit, Silpakorn, Srinakharin-wirot, Thaksin, and Thammasart.
"Atom Games" was the annual activity set to create relationships among students in the faculty of science of various universities. "Atom Games" was started in 1990. In 1994, it was the first time that Assumption University was the host. Again, this year, it was our honor to be the host of "Atom Games" whose objectives were to: (i) let the students join and share their experiences in organizing sports games at university level, (ii) let the students develop their sport potential skill in order to have good mental health, discipline, sports mind, patient, and unity,(iii) create a good relationship among science students from various universities, and (iv)celebrate the 12th year of the AU Science and Technology Faculty.
There were nine sports for competition: male football, male and female basketball, male and female beach volleyball, male sepak takraw, male and female patong, male and female table tennis, chess, 'Go' (a Korean game), and crossword. In addition to sport competition, there were also extra competitions for cheering and music band.
The overall winner for the sport competition was King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang, and the winner in cheering competition was King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok.
