Inventor's Day 2002
It was a great pleasure for the Faculty of Biotechnology to be invited to display a research project, and provide biotechnol-ogical information to the public on Inventor's Day 2002. The exhibition was held during 31 January to 4 February 2002 at the Sirikit National Convention Center.
On 10 May 1994 the Cabinet proclaimed that 2 February of every year is the "Inventor's Day" in honor of His Majesty the King as the result of his invention of the "Chaipattana Aerator" in which he received his patent for his intellectual property on 2 February 1993. On 14 August 2001, the Secretariat of the Prime Minister announced that the Prime Minister authorized the Office of the National Research Council to be the organizer of Inventor's Day. The purposes of this activity are to promote the creative thinking and invention that will benefit science, technology and the environment which might lead to the economic and social develop-ment, and the security of the country including both the government and private sectors.
The exhibitions and activities were as follows:
- Exhibition and display of His Majesty the King's invention in the form of pictures, posters, VDO, including His Majesty's New Theory.
- Exhibition and display of the SUPPORT Project of Her Majesty the Queen.
- The junior's inventions.
- The exhibition and display of the invention from both the government and private sectors.
- Seminars on 1 February 2002 on the topics, "The invention to raise up Thai economy", and "The invention involves the country's development concerning aquatic lives".
In this exhibition, the AU Faculty of Biotechnology displayed the process of rice milk production with posters and free samples to be tasted by the audiences.
