Agreement for Three-Month
Intensive Program in Japanese
Language & Culture
Between Assumption University
and
University of the Sacred Heart, Tokyo.
I. Purpose:
To promote mutual understanding and friendship between Thailand
and Japan, the University of the Sacred Heart, Tokyo will accept
3 students from Assumption University:
Miss Hataikorn Sathorn, Miss Plita Wattanapornpittaya
and Miss Kwanjai Kajornwuttideth for a short-term intensive Japanese
program commencing October, 2004.
II. Outline of the Program:
The program consists of 3 aspects:
1. Intensive Japanese language.
2. Other classes offered by the University.
3. Cultual program
The objective is to provide the students with a diverse
set of cultural contexts. By experiencing cultural activities and
communicating with Japanese people, students will have an opportunity
to deepen their understanding of Japan, its culture and people.
These activities are scheduled once or twice a week. For example:
introductory courses for flower arrangement, tea ceremony, calligraphy/visits
to historical sites/ studies of Japanese arts/workshop with Japanese
students & the University staff, etc.
The qualifications of applicants:
1. Female students who are taking undergraduate or
graduate courses.
2. Those who wish to further improve their Japanese language, study
Japanese culture and experience life in Japan.
3. Those who can stay in Japan for aperiod of less than 90 days.
4 Those who can obtain letters of recommendation from their enrolled
university.
III. Responsibility of the University of the
Sacred Heart:
1. The University is responsible for organizing and carrying out
the program for the studetns during their stay at the University.
2. The University wi 11 provide the students with:
- Free accommodation on campus
- All the facilities for the students' study and
research
- A series of orientation programs
- Necessary counseling and other assistance to the
students, if needed.
IV. Responsibility of Students:
1. Tuition: Japanese yen 150,000.
2. Full costs of travel to and from the University.
3. costs of study materials (books and stationery).
4. Travel documents and visa.
5. Expenses for field trips & excursions directly related to
classes/ programs.
6. Expenses for participating in some of the Cultural Program activities.
7. Expenses for utilities at the student's residence.
8. Personal expenses for travel, entertainment and meals.
9. Costs of health insurance and liability insurance.
10. Submission of required documents.
11. Students must abide by the rules and regulations of the host
country and insitution.
