Felicitations from Archbishop
Salvatore Pennacchio,
Apostolic Nuncio on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of
the
Religions Profession of
Rev. Bro. Prathip Martin Komolmas, F.S.G.
Your Eminence, Reverend Brother
Martin, Reverend Brother Bancha, the President and the University
Community, dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ,
At this moment of the Eucharistic
liturgy, where the sentiments of gratitude are elevated to
God the Father, we, all who are gathered here, have a very
dear reason for thanksgiving: the abundance of graces and
celestial gifts which were showered upon our dear Brother
Prathip Martin Komolmas during these 50 years
of his consecrated life. Today, also being the feast of St.
Martin of Tours, I would like to use the occasion to wish
Brother Martin a "Happy Feast"!
It is a fact that is evident to all who know in one way or
other Rev. Bro. Martin that it is not just a celebration of
a private nature, rather a common festivity for the entire
community for what it received from this esteemed Brother
thorough his faithful religious life.
The remarkable contribution
Brother Martin made in the field of Education in Thailand
demands from all who benefited directly or indirectly of the
same, to render a special thanksgiving to the good God who
chose him as his instrument. Also our appreciation goes to
this Brother who knew how to be an efficient instrument of
divine graces in channelising that eternal wisdom in a given
cultural context without discrimination. This fact is testified
by this Bang Na Campus of the Assumption University, the final
achievement of Brother Martin as its President, which is undoubtedly
a milestone in the history of this educational institution.
Still, the masterpiece of Brother Martin is beyond all these
visible accomplishments, in an invisible realm and in an indelible
manner, where the seeds of wisdom sowed in the hearts of numerous
students passed through this prestigious center for education,
which will never fail to produce its manifold fruits in assuring
a bright future for Thailand.
Dear Brother Martin, while
felicitating you whole-heartedly for being a luminous exponent
of the Catholic Church before the Thai civil society, throughout
the last fifty years of your life inspired by the religious
vows, I have the joy and honour to convey you the blessings
of the Holy Father Pope John Paul II, as his Representative
among you. The message personally signed by the Holy Father
and addressed to Brother Martin reads thus:
"Upon
Brother Prathip Martin Komolmas, F.S.G. on the happy occasion
of the Fiftieth Anniversary of his religious profession, I
cordially impart my Apostolic Blessing as a pledge of grace
and peace in our Lord Jesus Christ.
From the Vatican, II November
2004
Ioannes
Paulus II
Thank you for your attention!
