NATIONAL DAY OF FRANCE AT ASSUMPTION UNIVERSITY.
On
July 12,2004 the French National Day was fittingly celebrated at
the Bang Na Campus of Assumption University. The Department of Business

given by the President Emeritus Dr. P. Martin Komolmas and the Cultural
Attache from the French Embassy Mr. Christian Depierre who personally
attended and officiated at the proceedings organised by the Dapartment

At
the opening ceremony held in the morning the President Emeritus
set the happy tone for the day by giving his welcome speech in French
language. He was followed by Mr. Christian Depierre, who spoke about
"La Francophone" and the establishment of friendship among
French speaking countries. He made, particular mention of the help
and encouragement provided by the French Embassy such as the grant
of scholarships to our students and the donation and distribution
of French books to our Central Library etc.
In
the afternoon session Mr. Olivier Ribault and Ms. Marisa from the
Education Department of the French Embassy made power point presentations
about programs of studies in France and they also distributed books
entitled" Study in France" to all participants. An interesting
exhibition also was staged at the Plaza, Cathedral of Learning on
