WORKSHOP ON "RESEARCH IN EDUCATION: HOW TO DESIGN AND CONDUCT A MEANINGFUL STUDY"

The Faculty of Education organized the workshop entitled "Research in Education: How to Design and Conduct a Meaningful Study" on March 13, 2003 at the Seminar Room, De Montfort Hall, Hua Mak campus. This workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Forrest W. Parkay, Professor. Educational Leadership & Higher Education, Washington State University.

The workshop was designed to help participants understand the six steps that comprised the "Framework for Understanding the Steps of Scientific Inquiry", six criteria for evaluating research problems in education, the nature and types of educational research, as well as the procedures for developing a statement of the problem, design of the study, review of literature, and methodology.

More than 30 participants who were teachers, faculty members and graduate students attended this event. Participants showed a great interest in and paid great attention to this workshop, which helped them acquire knowledge and skills to conduct meaningful educational research and learn about developing a conceptual framework for their research studies in education.

This workshop together with many previous workshops that have been recently conducted by Faculty of Education have created an encouraging environment conducive to studying and researching in ABAC.
