3. St. Martin de Tours Award

3.1 Mrs. Orawan Arphorn-suwan
Awarded St. Martin de Tours Award for Excellence in Teaching (3rd Class)

Citation:

The Department of Business Chinese considers Mrs. Orawan Arphornsuwan as an exceptionally innovative teacher. It is explained that in the early days when there were no prescribed texts she collected and compiled teaching materials and used them in her classrooms. Her wise selection and adoption of a suitable methodology of dissemination helped students to learn effectively and become articulate and eloquent Chinese speakers.

Mrs. Orawan has worked as a high school teacher for 15 years and another 13 years on our campus has mellowed and matured her to the extent of developing a special personality which enables her to assume the mantle of a revered mentor to students and peers alike. She is always punctual and polite in her dealings and her presence and advice are sought and welcomed by students and colleagues at all times.

In view ofher affability and her high utilitarian value as a faculty member Mrs. Orawan Arphorn-suwan is granted St. Martin de Tours Award for Excellence in Teaching (3rd Class) on December 24,2003.

3.2 Ms. Nootrudee Siriboon

Awarded St. Martin de Tours Award for Excellence in Teaching (3rd Class)

Citation:

Ms. Nootrudee Siriboon joined the Faculty of Biotechnology on June 1, 1994 as a full-time lecturer but within a short space of time and on October 1,1995 she was promoted as Chairperson of the Food Technology Department. She was found to be highly capable, proficient and resourceful and her expertise was also attributable to the fact that she has worked as Assistant Dean, Student Affairs and Chairperson of Department of Food Technology in Rangsit University for over 3 years during 1991-1994.

Ms. Nootrudee holds a Master's degree in Food Science from Kasetsart University and her research interests are in Cereal, Bakery, Fruit and Vegetable Technology as well as in Quality Control, Sanitation and Packaging and she taught mostly in these subjects. She is a highly disciplined and no-nonsense type of lecturer and knowing this her students concentrate on their studies and derive benefit by absorbing and assimilating their lessons quickly and without distractions. Ms. Nootrudee Siriboon has worked here smoothly and effectively for nearly ten years and in appreciation ofher services and contributions she is awarded the St. Martin de Tours Award for Excellence in Teaching (3rd Class) with effect from December 24,2003.
