ST. XAVIER UNIVERSITY OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP TO A.U.

Dr. Donald Fricker, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science, accompanied by Dr. Rich Johnson visits Rector Dr. Bancha Saenghiran to offer a scholarship valued US. $20,000.

Dr. Donald Flicker, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Saint Xavier University recently presented a scholarship from Saint Xavier University to Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, Rector, for use by an Assumption faculty member. As Dr. Fricker explained to Bro. Bancha, the scholarship is for two years of study in the Master of Applied Computer Science Program at St. Xavier in Chicago, US A. The scholarship program is expected to start in the 2004-2005 academic year and is valued at US$20,000. Saint Xavier University will cover all costs for the study program except travel, accommodation and personal expenses of the recipient.

Dr. Fricker was attached to Assumption University during 1998 on a research assignment and during that time he developed friendship with officials here including Dr. Richard Johnson of the International Affairs Office.

The scholarship is being initiated by Dr. Fricker with the desire for the two universities to form a beneficial collaboration and as the first step in promoting a promising relationship between the two institutions.
