Prof. Srisakdi Elected President of CAT with Impressive Team
Dr. Srisakdi said that CAT is a learned society as opposed to ATCI (Association of Thai Computer Industry) which is a trade association. The main purpose of a trade association is to promote business ut a learned society disseminates knowledge for economic and social development. As a learned society, the majority of executives of CAT should be academics. Prof. Srisakdi is the highest ranking computer academician in Thailand. He is the first Thai to earn a Ph.D. in the computer field in 1,964. Since 1988 he held a C- 11 level position which is the highest in the official hierarchy. Dr. Srisakdi has served as a full professor in 4 universities, namely, the State University of New York, the National Institute of Development Administration and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, and Professor of Computer Engineering at Assumption University. He is assisted by three Vice Presidents., Dr. Khunying Kalaya Soponpanich, Associate Professor Dr. Supachai Tangwongsam and Dr. Tawanwong Krairojananan of Chiangmai University. The Secretary General of CAT is Dr. Wuttipong Pongsuwan who is now Advisor to the Prime Minister and who also teaches at Assumption University. Treasurer is Dr. Chamnong Jungtirapanich who is the Dean of the Graduate School of Computer and Engineering Management at Assumption University where Dr. Srisakdi is also the Chairman of the Board of the Graduate School. |
The Registrar ofAssociations of the National Police Commission recently issued the certificate confirming the new set of officers for the Computer Association of Thailand which is under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King. Prof.Dr. Srisakdi Charmonman now heads as President of CAT with an impressive team of officers.
