4th THAI LOCAL WISDOM ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE FESTIVAL, 7th WINE TASTING FESTIVAL

Recter Dr. P. Martin Komolmas cutting the ribbon to open the alcoholic beverage and wine tasting festivals, flanked by the Vice President and Dean of the Biotech Faculty.

The above festivals were held on September 12- 13 at the Hall of Fame, C. Building. The main objectives of the festivals were to inspire and support local entrepreneurs to produce wines and whiskies both for local consumption and for export to international markets. In addition, there was a seminar on "efforts to support and develop Thai local wisdom alcoholic beverages to be popular and competitive in the international markets".

At the end of these festivals, the Faculty of Biotechnology and the contest participants allowed the honors guest and students to taste all the alcoholic beverages on 13rd September 2002. Everybody enjoyed the delightful moments and they were excited by the results of the 4th Thai local wisdom alcoholic beverage contest. The Faculty of Biotechnology hopes that this festival could inspire and support Thai local wisdom alcoholic beverages to become well known and competitive in the international markers in the near future.

It has been seven years since the Faculty of Biotechnology started the wine tasting festival in every first semester of the academic year. This year, it was hosted by junior Biotech students who took BT 3015 Industrial fermentation course.

There was a performance by Tewan Subsangyakon, the number one saxophone musician of Thailand with JSL music band to provide a delightful and pleasant atmosphere including food, Thai local wisdom alcoholic products as well as alcoholic beverages from junior students. In addition, ABAC wines were given to the participants by drawing lots.
