THE 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GENDER AND EQUITY ISSUES: HU-MANISTIC CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE 21F' CENTURY.

The above conference jointly organized at the Radisson Hotel, Bangkok, by the Faculty of Humanities, Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok and Salisbury State University, Maryland USA was attended by Glen V. Chatelier from Assumption University's Faculty of Arts. Mr.Glen presentea two paper on the following topics : Thomas Hardy's lack of sensitivity towards women's rights in the Mayor of Casterbridge, and Gender Inequity: The Dowry System in India. The latter topic was presented using a poem written by A. Glen himself, to reflect the lack of equality between men and women in the Indian society. A. Glen also chaired the first panel presentation in the plenary session of the conference entitled : Politics of Gender.
