AU faculty members serving on the Committee for Education of the 27th International Conference on World Peace.

The above Conference was organized by the Professors World Peace Academy of Thailand Association (PWPA) in collaboration with United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Foundation for Development and Peace (FDP), at the UN Conference Centre and Hotel Plaza Athenee, Bangkok. Several of Assumption University's faculty members attended and participated in the proceedings.
H.E. Gen. Prem Tinsulanonda, President of the Privy Council and statesman, inaugurated the conference, Among the prominent keynote speakers were H.E. Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, H.E. Abhisit Vejjajivq and M. R. Chatu-mongol Sonakul who spoke at the welcoming banquet.
Four committees deliberated on Culture, Education, Socio-Economics and Politics and Religion respectively. Among the many contributions to the conference made by Assumption University faculty are the following: Professor Kirti Bunchua, Senior Research Fellow of Assumption University served on the Conference Central Organizing committee, the Committee on Religion and at the Conference Summary session as Reporter on the Committee for Religion. A.Glen V. Chatelier and A. Dr. Chayada
Thanavisuth served on the Resolutions Committee for Education. They activelyhelped to evolve and frame the resolutions for this Committee.
Overall, the conference was a veryrewarding experience in terms of academic advancement and the opportunity for networking among international scholars working for peace.
