Message from the Rector

I am happy to learn that the Art Dancing Group Nele from Belgium is visiting Thailand from July 10 to 24, 2001 to organise and present stage shows at the Hua Mak campus of Assumption University and other locations in Thailand.

I observe that what was first conceived and initiated as a modest program of cultural exchange between Belgium and Thailand in July 1993 has grownb into regular tours of artistes comprising dancers, singers and technicians from each nation performing in the major cities of the host country. I believe that there is no better way of enhancing cross-cultural harmony and understanding than by staging performances that illustrate the ways of life, beliefs, costumes and customs of a people to the citizens of another nation and vice versa and to gradually expand such exchanges to cover as many countries as possible.

I am certain that the artistes of the Art Dancing Group Nele who are experienced and accomplished professionals will perform successfully and win fame and acclaim from Thai audiences wherever they stage their shows and it is my anticipation that the group of students from Assumption University and St. Joseph's Convent will be making preparations in earnest to reciprocate the visit of the Art Dancing Group Nele.

Dr. P. Martin Komolmas, FSG Rector
