Administrators, Faculty Members, Service Personnel and Students,

We are assembled here today to honour His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great in this brief ceremony to mark the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's 73rd Birthday Anniversary The people of Thailand laud and praise His Majesty for his industriousness,his talents, innovative genius and continuing concern for the welfare of the people.

His Majesty is 73 years old today, and in his younger days, as the King who had just ascended the throne, he made a promise never to leave or abandon his people. Thailand is indeed very fortunate in having such an enlightened Monarch, who is the spiritual center of the nation, and who continues to work hard for the Thai people.

His Majesty's projects are well known in this country and worldwide. A talented composer and painter, a sportsman of international acclaim, His Majesty has long left his favourite pastimes behind to work for the development of agriculture and the growth of our economy where it matters most, at the grassroots level.

As people in Thailand and overseas pay respect to His Majesty the King today, we at Assumption University join in wishing His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great,
