FRESHY NIGHT CELEBRATIONS 1998.

The Freshy Night which has become a much longed for and sought after event of this University was launched this year with all the hype and hoopla by the Student Affairs Department on July 4, 1998. As originally conceived it was a night for varsity beauties to make their debut in haute couture dresses and costume jewelry as well as for others to show off their savoirfaire and social skills and in this regard there was no dearth of talent or esthetic appeal. Knowing the keen interest and enthusiasm of students the administrators took part in the proceedings and provided encouragement where necessary to make the occasion a successful and memorable event. As in previous years all the faculties and departments pooled their strengths and resources to participate in the various competitions and concerts organised for the occasion. The was the Prince and Princess Contest, Boom Contest, Baisi Ceremony, the special concert by popular artistes and singers from the entertainment industy, plenty of other singing dancing performances etc. which started from 18.00 hrs. on Friday and went on till the wee hours of Saturday. Many students went wild with happiness and excitement and we invite readers to view the photos on this page and the next and we are certain they will catch the spirit of the occation from the faces, gestures and postures of the participants.
